Fun-Filled Sunday

This past Sunday was a fabulous day ! It was filled from the minute we got up until the minute we went to sleep!! We first got up and went to the kid's church to see Jonathan and Elizabeth sing in their Christmas program. They did a wonderful job, singing very loudly. They each had solo parts in the program and I have to say....they were the best of the show!!!! ....and no, I'm not just being partial!!! They were REALLY good! Anna wasn't feeling well and didn't get to do her part that she had practiced so hard for.

After church we went to the Show Me Christian Youth Home to deliver our bag full of presents to the little girl that our family sponsored for Christmas. It was a great joy to get to do this. We have talked with the kids a lot this past month about giving instead of receiving. They really had fun seeing her open her presents and for her to have some visitors this Christmas season. They even got to stay and play with her for a while. She was 10 years old so she fit right in with our kids!! The lesson was a good one for my kids to learn!

It was a bit chilly that day....I think it registered around 2 degrees with a windchill of about 20 BELOW !!! We took a few VERY quick pictures anyways!!

Here are Jonathan (on the left of pic) and Elizabeth (next to last girl on the right) in their Christmas program. This was during Ellie's solo part! They did such a great job!!
Later that evening, we opened presents at our house. Grandma and Grandpa came up with their goodies too so we had a great time! Some of you know, that I have always said Jazmyn would never have Barbie's or Bratz (or like items) in our house. I just do not believe that they represent woman in a very good manner and kids grow up with the wrong impression of what looks good. I have even gone to the extent of sending toys home with someone else if it is a Barbie or such.....wellllll.......Jazmyn has asked for a "connective Barbie" for the past 6 months. It is a Diamond Castle Princess Barbie that sings songs and sings together with another one. Our kids each only received one gift this year and it was so hard knowing that Jaz really wanted this one thing so badly. I finally convinced myself that it was not a TRUE Barbie, but is was a PRINCESS doll.....so as you can see below she did get them and she was ecstatic!!! O MY...what have I done!! No more...that's for sure!!!

Jonathan was excited to get the game called "Scene It!" It is a lot of fun to play. We all set down Monday evening and played it together.

They all had a great time opening presents. It is so much fun to be all together with family this time of year.
Battleship!!! With all NEW pieces....we are no longer missing ships!!!! YAAAA!!

Here's Jazzy with her "Connective Barbie's" ....at least they are dressed appropriately! Right ?!?!?! LOL!

This is one of the games that Ellie got. It is a Dance Revolution DVD Game. It teaches dance moves. It is really good exercise and a lot of fun too. The kids got really wild with it.
Jazmyn got a little lap top computer from Grandma and Grandpa. She was on it most of the day Monday. It has all kinds of learning things on it.
More DANCING!!!! in our new P.J.'s!!!!
We have more fun stuff planned for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! I can't wait to see Theresa and the girls tomorrow night! Christmas Eve is always a special time at my mom and dad's.
Then the big morning....what will Santa bring? I can't WAIT to post those pictures as Jazmyn is going to be soooo thrilled with SANTA this year!! We'll post those next week!
We wish each of you a very MERRY Christmas. Keep Jesus alive in your hearts! Enjoy your time with your families!!!!

Busy week at Preschool!

This week at Preschool was a busy week! On Friday, Jazmyn's class went to an area greenhouse to see how they have prepared for the Christmas season. It was an extra special field trip because this time daddy went with her! They had a special day together and they both enjoyed each other! Jazmyn's favorite flower is now the beautiful Poinsetta as she has talked about them all week.

This past Sunday was "Preschool Sunday" where the preschool classes are invited to sing at the church associated with their preschool. If you rememeber from several months ago, from their first "preschool Sunday"...Jazmyn would not sing at all and pretty much stood with her fingers in her mouth or in her hair the entire time. When we left the last time she also declared to us..."I am never doing that again!"

With that lingering in my head I wondered how this time would end up. The day started out very well. I think it helped that her bubby and sissie's were here this time to see her school and hear her sing. She made us very proud, singing quite nicely to every song!!! Way to go sweetie!!!

For some reason I can never seem to get good lighting for these pictures. Sorry.

Decorating for Christmas...

We had a great Thanksgiving. We went down to mom and dad's and spent the day. It was filled with eating, visiting, and odds and end's. It was a peaceful relaxing day for us all.
This past Friday (after getting up at 4 am to get one item...shhhhh.... at walmart on the Black Friday sale) we decided it was time to get some decorations up inside the house. Jazmyn always loves this time of year. She thinks if we put up the tree then Christmas must be coming REALLY soon. The whole month away thing is really messing her up! She had a great time helping me put the tree together! This is one of my favorite current pictures of her! She is starting to look so grown up!

Here she is putting the branches on one by one.

Is it looking any better yet?

This is of course her favorite part. Over the past four years my mom and my sister got each child a Christmas ornament with their name and the year on it. It is so much fun to look back at the different ornaments over the past four years. This year was especially fun for Jazmyn because it was the first year that she was able to recognize her name and sissy's and bubby's names on all of the ornaments. She was so excited every time she found a name and she would proudly tell me whose name it was... "Mommy, this one says Anna"

...and after all that hard work, we went to bed and slept peacefully....UNTIL.....

the mischievous kitten that you see in the picture below named "Coconut" decided that the tree looked fun to climb on! I think it was about 5 am when I heard a thud...thinking that it was only the baby gate that the cat had probably knocked over....again....I simply stayed in bed. The dogs weren't barking so I knew it was not an intruder or anything to be alarmed of...lol. At about 7 when Jazmyn came to our room she declared quite loudly that "the Christmas tree fell alllll the way over!!!" I leaped out of bed to find the glass ornaments broken (luckily none with names on them) and tree limbs bent, and the base totally broken. OOPS...I had questioned how my daycare kids would tolerate not being able to touch the tree but had forgotten to think about rotten little"Coconut!" I can think of nothing else that could have made the tree fall, but Coconut.

Jeovany got out of bed and went to get a new base right away. We un-decorated the tree, fixed in into the new base, and then grudgetly redecorated the tree. Have I mentioned that I don't particularly like to decorate, although I love the end results? Well this year, lucky for Jazmyn, we got to decorate twice for the same end results!!

So far, the tree has safely made it through one night. We shall see how the next one goes.

Coconut has however torn the lighted greenery off of the stairs once already. Wow...what a season we are going to have. One that will not soon be forgotten I suppose.

Jazmyn's silly song

Here is a snippet of Jazmyn's latest "silly song" proudly sang from the bathtub! She is constantly singing and making up her own songs. However, she does know lyrics to some of her favorites but still seems to have so much fun singing silly ones like this one. She says that her Papa taught her to sing the silly ones. Between her and daddy there is always someone singing in our house! Hope you enjoy it! Check out the next 3 blogs...they are all new TODAY!

Don't count your chickens until they cry wolf!!!

I know it has been a very long time since I have posted....so here are 3 posts to play catch up!! For you all you that have been asking when a new post would be here.....enjoy!!!

Everything in the Marimon household is good. The kids were just here this past weekend and Jazzy had a great time getting to play with them. Everyone is doing pretty good in school. Ellie remains the little social butterfly. Grades are all pretty good.

We are all looking forward to Christmas this year. Our family is doing something a little different this year. Instead of going overboard and buying buying buying for our kids we are going to limit it to one item for each of them (as we are all strapped for cash anyways). We are then going to adopt a child at a nearby Christian Youth Home and bless them this year with Christmas. I think we tend (well I know we do) to go overboard with presents and then what happens???...they play with them for a week and then they want something else. Well this year, we are going to show them what it means to be thank full and how to get joy in blessing someone less fortunate then ourselves. I think our kids are all at good ages to understand this and really remember what it teaches them in the future.

Jazmyn is absolutely loving Preschool. She is off this whole week for Thanksgiving, but she is already ready to go back to school. The older kids want off of school and Jazmyn is begging to go back! I wonder how long before that changes....1st grade, 2nd grade???? LOL!

I have been keeping very busy with my in-home spa business. It is going so well and mom and I really enjoy doing it together. It is so much fun to see other woman learn how to relax and see them start to put themselves first and take care of themselves! It is just as rewarding for us and the money aspect of it is looking quite nice too.

This past week Jazmyn's preschool class had a field trip to SFCC for a play. It was a lot of fun. The kids really enjoyed it (and I think the adults liked it just as much!) It was called "Don't count your chickens until they cry wolf." It was a collaboration of Aesop's fables. Below is Jazmyn and one of her teachers (Ms. Carol).

Three blind mice...I believe....

Jazmyn seemed to really enjoy all of the singing. She sings around the house CONSTANTLY...maybe one day we'll all get to see her on Broadway! Who knows!?!

This is the tortoise and the hare...can you see the tortoise in the very front? It was a really cute play.

Shear delightment!! Isn't she precious!

Enjoy the next 2 new posts!! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!! Enjoy your time with your loved ones! Take care and God Bless!

Kaitlin's birthday!!!

This is Kaitlin...she is one of the little girls that I babysat before I moved back towards "home". We had her from the time she was 8 weeks old until she was almost a year. Here she is at her 2nd birthday party!!! What a big girl she is now!!
Thanks for inviting us!!

Halloween...a little late

Halloween was a lot of fun. Jazmyn was a PRINCESS (of course)...she had glitter all in her hair and makeup on...and was all sparkles. Her dress even lit up with fiber optic lights! She had a great time!

This was her preschool party....full of sweets as you can see.

....and of course we had to trick or treat to Bam-ma's work!!! What a fun day and evening we had. We finally called it a day around 9 pm!!! She was exhausted but ready for more!!
